The man says, "A bird."

The girl walks away and the man falls asleep. He wakes up later in a hospital and is in great pain. A doctor and a policeman are at his bed, the doctor asks him, "Do you remember what happened?"

The man replies, "I don't know. I was at the beach and fell asleep after talking to a little girl."

The policeman says, "I asked her what happened and she said; 'I didn't do anything to the man, but while he was asleep, I played with his bird. It spit at me! So I broke its neck, burned its nest, and smashed the two little eggs!"

Ufoma Ejenobor Weep

Ufoma Ejenobor It was a very emotional moment for actress, Ufoma Ejenobor, who couldn’t hold her tears when Maiden, wife of the late Minister of Internal Affairs, Alex Ibru, recounted the last days of her husband earlier in the week during the launch of The Big Fight Against Cancer. The very emotional Ufoma said cancer is a deadly diseases and it was high time Nigerians came out to fight it. The actress and some other entertainers including Chief Tony Okoroji, Patrick Doyle, KSB and Anne Inyang had gathered at the Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos for the launch put together by the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy and some other agencies. Mrs. Ibru called on all governments in Nigeria and the private sector to take urgent action to ensure that facilities are provided in Nigeria for early detection of cancer. According to her, if the facilities were readily available and her husband’s condition detected on time, he probably would not have died at the time he did, having survived an assassin’s bullet. Explaining why COSON had to join in the fight against cancer, the chairman of the society, Okoroji said, “We would have been irresponsible not to join this battle after the frightening statistics that have been brought to our attention. While our country is giving a lot of attention to the battle against HIV/AIDS, cancer is wreaking havoc across our land. The good news is that we can do something to significantly reduce this crazy death figures. At COSON, we plan to mobilise all ‘mobilisables’ in Nigeria to take action immediately.” Chief Okoroji announced that a massive concert, ‘The Concert of Stars in support of the Big War against Cancer in Nigeria,’ will take place in March. The event is targeted at raising funds for the acquisition of mobile cancer centres. He said that several A-list artistes had indicated their interest in participating in the concert and to join the war.

Cervical cancer no longer a death sentence

Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT), Society for Family Health, Prof. Shima Gio has said that cervical cancer is no longer a death sentence in women as there are many ways of treating it now.Gio stated this during the formal presentation of Cryotherapy Machine used in the treatment of pre-cancerous lesion of the cervix to one of its partner health facilities, Sanffron Hospital Nyanya, Abuja. While responding to questions Gio said, "When cancer was first discovered, most cancer then were like death sentences but not now. We have found many ways of treating it and even when it comes out, the person can have very many years of useful and quality life."Cervical cancer is the uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells in a woman's cervix (the narrow opening of the womb into the vagina). Cervical cancer is the most common female cancer in the developing countries, with approximately 500,000 new cases and 25, 000 deaths occurring each year," he said.According to Gio, "The chances of survival are not very low. The survival in this country are reasonable. Well, cancer normally increases with age and I will say that, the women who are from 40yrs and above are more at risk than the younger ones, it can occur at any age as it doesn't follow any pattern but, common in older."He, however, observed that, the machine is not for treating cancer patients as the agency has found out that, cervical cancer is caused by a virus and anytime the virus infects a woman, it maybe there for several years before it is noticed and the virus is usually transmitted through sexual intercourse. So, "women who has this virus, if we can find out that the virus is there, we will kill it before it causes cancer and this is what the machine is all about," he said.Stressing further, he said that, the machine should be present in every hospital/clinic in Nigeria and that Nigeria could afford it if we put our priorities right. He added that the machine is valued at $3000.Responding, the Chief Medical Director, Saffron Hospital, Dr.Tide Oye, thanked the Society for Family Health for its continuous effort for the provision of quality health care services to the nation. He further tasked the federal government and other stakeholders in the health sector for more support in delivering adequate and affordable health services to the people and promised to make good use of the machine

Why OJB’s wife couldn't donate kidney for her husband

OJB’s third wife, Korede Okongbowa, has opened up on why she could not donate a kidney to save her ailing husband, OJB. Obviously in a happy mood that he survived at last, Korede said she could have donated her own kidney but as at the time the issue of transplant came up, she had just given birth.“I’m a perfect match for him but I had a baby a month before the transplant issue came up, so they had to exclude me because I had surgery during the childbirth. That’s the reason I didn’t donate. In fact, the kidneys of all his three wives quite matched his own. But for the surgery I had while giving birth to my baby, I would have donated my kidney without thinking about it; he is my husband after all.”How did Korede feel when she heard her husband needed a transplant? “I wasn’t surprised because we had been treating him back and forth and when we concluded on transplant, I held unto my God and prayers. Thank God he pulled through.”What was the most challenging experience for her while the ordeal lasted: “Waking up every morning and not knowing what to expect. However, I never lost hope because I am a Christian,” she concluded.

funny joke

A couple received a letter from their daughter who went to study modern physics overseas, the letter read:

"My beloved Parents, I miss you so much and it breaks my heart to think that by the time I get back you'll be too old. So enclosed you'll find a bottle of potion I have invented. It will make you young, so when I return you'll be the same age as I left you.

NOTE: Please take only a drop"

So they opened the envelope and in it there is a bottle with a red potion. the man looked at the wife and says: "You go first." (typical of men!)

So the wife takes a drop thereafter, the husband follows. Indeed the wife turn five years younger. Years later the daughter returns home to find her mother young and pretty, carrying a baby on her back. The mother proceeds to tell her daughter how the potion worked and made her look young.

The daughter was delighted and asks after her dad.

MOTHER: Your father? Hmm, my child, your father was so jealous that I was so young and beautiful so he drank the whole bottle.

DAUGHTER: What? So where is he?

MOTHER: Hahaha, who do you think is the baby on my back?
